T&TEC Hosts Inter-Department Football Tournament And World Cup Quarterfinal Watch Party

The Trinidad and Tobago Electricity Commission (T&TEC) successfully hosted its highly anticipated 80th Anniversary 7-a-side Football Tournament and World Cup Quarter Finals Watch party on Saturday 11th July 2026 at the Ato Boldon Stadium, bringing together management, employees, families
and friends for a day of sports, camaraderie, and team spirit.

The tournament featured competitive football matches among teams representing T&TEC’s Inter-Area Sports Clubs from North, South, Central, East and Tobago, as well as teams from the Commission’s Distribution Areas, El Socorro and Penal Training Facilities, a Management Team, and the T&TEC Police.

The event was attended by Line Minister, Bary Shiva Padarath, members of T&TEC’s Board of Commissioners, including Chairman Anil Kamal, Vice Chairman Raymond Cozier, Commissioner Anil Bhagowtee, Commissioner Taramatie Mongroo, Commissioner Ravita Babwah, Commissioner Gerard
Small, and Commissioner Dr. Curtis Boodoo.

Also in attendance were members of T&TEC’s Senior Executive and Management Team, who joined employees in supporting the teams and celebrating the spirit of fellowship across the organisation.

Beyond the football competition, the day evolved into a vibrant Football Family Day. With a dedicated cookout area, family-friendly activities and a special watch party featuring the England vs. Norway FIFA World Cup quarterfinal match, which added to the excitement and festive atmosphere.

The tournament highlighted T&TEC’s commitment to employee engagement, teamwork, wellness and fostering positive relationships across all levels of the organisation.
