As part of efforts to strengthen communication across T&TEC, members of T&TEC’s Board and Senior Executive team, met with employees at T&TEC’s operating centres in east and south-east Trinidad on Friday May 8th, 2026.
The ‘Meet and Greet’ was led by Chairman Anil Kamal and General Manager, Ian Ramrattan who, along with Board Members and the Senior Executives, kicked off the walk-through at 7:00 a.m. at T&TEC’s offices on Tumpuna Road, Arima, to meet with crews before they departed for work. This was followed by visits to T&TEC’s customer service centres at Arima, Sangre Grande and Rio Claro.
Friday’s meet and greet was the fourth such instalment for the year, having already toured 11 other service centres and operational locations in Distributions North, Central and South in February, March and April respectively. While meeting with employees, the contingent also engaged with members of the three representative unions – the Oilfields Workers Trade Union, Estate Police Association and the Senior Staff Association. These interactions allowed them to gain a better understanding of day-to-day operations in the Areas, while reaffirming the Commission’s commitment to safety, training, and operational excellence.
As T&TEC marks its 80th Anniversary milestone this year, the team also acknowledged the dedication and commitment of generations of employees to make this achievement possible. According to Mr. Ramrattan, these visits are not just about the team’s re-familiarising with T&TEC’s physical sites, “They are about listening, engaging, and having honest conversations. These are essential as we work together to strengthen our culture and improve how we serve our customers and our country,” he said.
The leadership team is next scheduled to visit Distribution Tobago and other operational locations in Central, such as the Public Lighting, Supplies and Transmission Maintenance Departments.
