TTPS Celebrates Police Dads

The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service celebrated fathers by honouring members of the tactical support unit. The event on Wednesday recognised the contribution of police ‘dads’ and their duty outside of public service.

Fathers Day celebrations continued with the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service recognising police dads. The celebration of the role that fathers in the police service play was highlighted, drawing reference to the balance between public service and family life.

Lecturer and researcher Dr. Wendell Wallace explained the role of fatherhood in shaping the outcome of children, especially when fathers are physically and emotionally present.

Assistant Commissioner of Police responsible for the Tactical Unit stressed that moments such as Father’s Day should be utilised to recognise the servicemen of this country.

Dr Wallace called on families and the public to be mindful when treating with police officers. He says to remember that even with the badges they hold, they are still human.

The event took place at the Centre of Excellence in Macoya.
