TTPS Commended For Exceptional Security Support During Official Visit Of Indian Prime Minister

The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) has received high commendation from senior Indian security officials following the successful conclusion of the official visit by the Honourable Prime Minister of India to Trinidad and Tobago from July 3–4, 2025.

In a meeting held earlier today, Mr. Alok Sharma, Director of India’s elite Special Protection Group (SPG), and Mr. Rajiv Ranjan Bhagat, Inspector General, extended their gratitude to Commissioner of Police Mr. Allister Guevarro and Assistant Commissioner of Police (Special Branch) Mr. Terrence Pierre. The Indian delegation conveyed their sincere appreciation for the TTPS’ outstanding operational planning and professionalism, which ensured that the high-level engagement was executed without incident.

Both Mr. Sharma and Mr. Bhagat described the efforts of the TTPS and all supporting agencies as exceptional, citing the seamless coordination, strategic readiness, and dignified conduct of local law enforcement throughout the duration of the visit.

The TTPS acknowledges the contributions of all partner agencies and stakeholders whose commitment to excellence made this operation a success. Commissioner Guevarro also gave special commendations to Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Mr. Junior Benjamin, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Mr. Garvin Henry and Superintendent Special Branch, Mr. Mark Balkaran, for their hard work, dedication and excellent coordination. COP Guevarro also reiterated the organisation’s commitment to upholding the highest standards of service and security, and expressed gratitude for the international recognition.
