The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) continues its focused efforts to ensure public safety and security through sustained operations across all divisions.
In the last 24 hours, a total of 84 operations were conducted nationwide, resulting in 23 arrests, 161 traffic offences detected, and the seizure of two firearms, a rifle and a pistol and several quantities of ammunition as the officers continue enforcing the State of Emergency.
The operations, which spanned 12 divisions including specialized units, targeted high-priority offenders, criminal activity hotspots, and major roadways.
The exercises yielded the following:
• 507 searches conducted
• 45 traffic operations executed
• 36 priority offenders targeted
• 161 traffic offences detected
• 2 firearms recovered (1 rifle, 1 pistol)
• 86 rounds of assorted ammunition
• 23 individuals arrested for various offences
• Seizure of Camouflage clothing and ski mask
The Southern Division recorded the highest level of operational activity, with 24 persons arrested and 151 traffic operations conducted. The IATF also played a significant role, contributing to the firearm seizures.
These efforts are part of TTPS’s ongoing commitment to proactive policing, targeting illegal firearms, traffic violations, and repeat offenders.
