TTPS Continues “Operation Festive Shield” With Successful Anti-Crime Exercises In Western Division

The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) continued its intensified crime-fighting strategy under Operation Festive Shield, conducting two coordinated intelligence-driven operations across the Western Division on December 8th and 9th, 2025.

An intelligence-led exercise was conducted between 6pm and 10pm on Monday 8th December in the St James and St Clair districts. The operation was sanctioned by senior officers of the Western Division and executed by units including the Western Division Task Force, the Western Division Gang and Intelligence Unit, and the St James Police Station.

During the operation, officers acting on intelligence information regarding suspicious activity at an abandoned building in St. James.

Upon arrival, two male suspects fled the scene. A subsequent search of the premises led to the discovery of a firearm and a quantity of ammunition.

Between 4pm and 5pm on Tuesday 9th December, officers of the Four Roads and Carenage Criminal Investigation Departments conducted a targeted anti-crime operation aimed at preventing the commission of an offence.

During a surveillance exercise at a public medical facility, officers approached a female suspect in relation to a report of demanding money by menace. The suspect was cautioned in accordance with procedure and voluntarily accompanied officers to the Four Roads Police Station to assist with ongoing enquiries.

The exercise was completed without incident, and investigations remain active.
