An investigation is underway into a social media post, purportedly from a police officer, claiming he received personal threats related to a matter before the courts.
In a statement, Deputy Commissioner of Police Suzette Martin addressed the viral post that alleges that an envelope containing what appeared to be three rounds of ammunition was found.
The statement noted that reports of threats, intimidation or interference with the administration of justice are treated with the highest level of seriousness.
Threats against police officers are considered attacks on the rule of law.
The TTPS is taking all necessary steps to protect the officer and uphold the integrity of the justice system.
DCP Martin assured the public that the matter is receiving priority attention.
