The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) has advised the national community that it is closely monitoring recent regional developments and has implemented a series of precautionary operational measures to ensure the continued safety and security of the nation.
A statement from the TTPS said that strategic operations have been activated, but that these actions “are precautionary and form part of its ongoing commitment to national security.”
The TTPS urged the public not to panic, as the measures are designed to ensure readiness, stability, and continuity of service should circumstances evolve.
“Citizens are encouraged to remain calm, stay informed through official channels, and report any suspicious activity to the police. Public vigilance, paired with responsible information sharing, remains an essential component of national resilience.”
Commissioner of Police Allister Guevarro further emphasised that the TTPS will keep the situation under constant review and update the public accordingly. He reminded the public that, as the saying goes, “when your neighbour’s house on fire, the prudent thing is to wet yours”.
