TTPS Monitoring Fireworks Compliance

The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service is advising the public that the Summary Offences Amendment Act Number 13 of 2025 and the Summary Offences Fireworks Regulations 2025 are now in force.

A release form the TTPS on Sunday notes that the updated legislation governs the use of fireworks and outlines new requirements and penalties.

According to the TTPS, the improper or unsafe use of fireworks poses risks to life and property, can cause public disturbance, and may affect vulnerable groups, including children, the elderly, and animals.

The TTPS warns that breaches of the law may result in enforcement action, including prosecution, even where warnings are issued.

The TTPS says officers will be conducting heightened, intelligence-led patrols to monitor compliance, and all reported offences will be investigated.

Members of the public are now being encouraged to comply with the law in the interest of public safety.
