Inspector Michelle Lewis of the TTPS, speaking on NOW, outlined new laws aimed at tackling child grooming and strengthening overall child protection in Trinidad and Tobago. She issued a heartfelt appeal to parents and guardians to remain vigilant and take note of any sudden changes in their children’s behaviour, which could signal abuse.
The TTPS continues to provide multiple channels for reporting abuse: call 996 or 800-2014 for child abuse reports, or contact ChildLine at 131 or 800-4321. For emergencies, dial 911 or 999, or reach the police via 736-TTPS (8877).
