Strengthened ties make for a more effective and forward-thinking alliance, as the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service renewed partnership agreements with the University of the West Indies and the University of the Southern Caribbean.
The agreements were signed on August 18th by Deputy Commissioner of Police Junior Benjamin on behalf of the TTPS and the Police Academy.
The renewed partnerships focus on education, professional development, research, innovation and capacity building.
Speaking at the signing ceremony at UWI’s St Augustine campus, DCP Benjamin said the collaboration will support the strategic development of human capital within the Police Service while providing opportunities for knowledge exchange and the adoption of international best practices.
Representatives of both universities also welcomed the agreements, describing them as important tools for advancing innovation, productivity and national development.
The TTPS says the partnerships reflect its ongoing commitment to professional development and more effective policing.
