The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service has released its latest figures on Day 45 of the current State of Emergency.
In a media statement, the TTPS reported, to date, the approval of 258 detention orders, with 170 executed, surpassing the totals recorded at the end of the previous State of Emergency.
Since the start of the current SOE, the TTPS has conducted 3,694 operations, resulting in 1,588 arrests and 355 charges laid.
As a result of these efforts, 90 firearms were recovered, and 2,196 rounds of ammunition, 3,146 kilogrammes of cocaine, and 337 kilogrammes of marijuana were seized.
According to the TTPS, the results were due to intelligence-led policing, coordinated national operations, and sustained pressure on priority offenders and organised criminal networks, noting that operations will continue with intensity, discipline, and zero tolerance as the SOE enters a critical phase.
