The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) acknowledges the concerns expressed by members of the public regarding the recent repatriation of individuals from the United States of America.
Following a coordinated multi-agency operation, conducted early Saturday morning, under the guidance of Senior Superintendent Edwards, Head of the Special Investigations Unit, which facilitated the return of 17 individuals to Trinidad and Tobago, the TTPS is actively collaborating with key stakeholders to ensure a smooth and structured reintegration into society.
Deputy Commissioner of Police, Intelligence and Investigations, Suzette Martin, affirmed the TTPS’s commitment to supporting this process in partnership with the Immigration Division and Vision on Mission. “Our priority is to work closely with our partners to ensure that all individuals are safely and responsibly settled,” stated DCP Martin.
She further emphasised that the TTPS is committed to supporting any rehabilitative efforts required to assist the individuals in transitioning back into the community. “This process is iterative and will be guided by ongoing assessments to ensure appropriate interventions and support mechanisms are in place at every stage,” DCP Martin noted.
The TTPS remains focused on maintaining public safety and order, and assures the national community that every effort is being made to address this matter with the seriousness and sensitivity it deserves.
