A quantity of “plant like” material was discovered off the East Coast of Trinidad by officers of the Trinidad and Tobago Coast Guard while conducting searches in that area on Wednesday.
According to a release, officers on board the TTS Scarborough discovered a large plastic wrapped bale containing the material. The “plant like” material weighed 31.5 kilogrammes and was subsequently handed over to the police.
Meanwhile, the search continues for two persons reported missing in the water in the vicinity of the East Coast of Trinidad.
The Coast Guard has engaged partner agencies to aid in the operation.
The TTCG wishes to remind the boating public to exercise caution when engaging in maritime activities.
