Tyra Gittens soared to Gold in the Women’s High Jump for the University of Texas at the Tiger Paw Invite in South Carolina this weekend.
Competing for the first time in Longhorn colours, Gittens cleared 1.88 Metres to continue her hot run of form on the US collegiate circuit.
On Friday, the TTO Olympian finished sixth in the Long Jump.
Last week, the US Track and Field, Cross Country Association’s 2021 Women’s National Field Athlete of the Year traded Texas A&M for rivals University of Texas.
In 2021, Gittens won the Pentathlon and High Jump at the NCAA Indoor Championships, and Gold in the NCAA Outdoor Heptathlon racking up 50 points for the Aggies.
