TTUTA Ready For New School Term

With schools carded to re-open for the 2nd term on Monday January 5th, President of the Trinidad and Tobago Unified Teachers Association Crystal Ashe said the Association will provide an additional layer of support for all schools during the first week.

Speaking to TTT News on Friday, Mr Ashe said 2 National Officer will be assigned to every school district, providing an extra layer of support where needed.

He noted that most schools are ready for the January – March 2026 term, however, challenges remain for approximately 5 schools. Mr Ashe assured that the issues are being addressed by the Ministry of Education and TTUTA representatives will visit those schools during the 1st week.

The TTUTA President also said he plans to visit the Santa Rosa Government School on Monday to support teachers and students who were affected as a result of the shooting of a student of the school in a Christmas Day attack in Arima.

He said this level of support is important in a show of solidarity as the Association continues to ensure that the interests of its members and the wider community are protected and advanced.
