The Trinbago Unified Calypsonians’ Association (TUCO), is embracing inclusivity, and implementing some new changes ahead of the 2026 Calypso Season.
With the 2026 Carnival celebrations upon us the Trinbago Unified Calypsonians’ Association (TUCO), is anticipating a successful Calypso season.
President of TUCO, Ainsley King, sat down with TTT News for an exclusive interview, where he gave us an update on where preparation stands.
He confirmed that funding is expected to be released to the organisation shortly, for Carnival 2026.
Unable to specify how much would be allocated for prizes this year, he says at present, the amounts should be treated as unchanged from last year.
With more soca artistes throwing their hats in the Calypso arena, TUCO is not only promising inclusivity, but also opportunities for younger artistes who are showing a interest in the artform.
He noted that TUCO’s four tents: Magnificent Glow, Showcase, Caravan and Rosseau have already announced their final casts and are ready to execute.
This will also see the continuation of positive changes implemented last year.
