Two men were arrested and a stolen vehicle recovered by officers of the Northern Division following a robbery incident on Thursday 28th August, 2025.
According to reports, at approximately 3:15pm, the victim was operating his registered taxi, a silver Nissan Almera, when he picked up three men who requested to be taken to a location. Upon arrival, the men announced a robbery and informed the victim that they were armed with a firearm. Fearing for his life, the victim exited the vehicle and ran to safety. One of the assailants then entered the driver’s seat and drove off, heading east along the Eastern Main Road.
The victim subsequently reported the matter to the police, and an all-points bulletin was issued by the Northern Division Command Centre for the stolen vehicle and the suspects.
Acting on the information, officers arrested two men: a 23-year-old of Rudy Drive, El Dorado, and a 25-year-old of Jaffar Street, Bamboo Settlement #2. The stolen vehicle was also recovered at Antigua Road, Wallerfield, Arima.
Investigations are continuing into this matter.
