US Embassy Donates To Prison Service

On Monday October 4th, 2021, several tactical gear items and kennels were donated to the Trinidad and Tobago Prison Service by the US Embassy Trinidad and Tobago in a short handing-over ceremony at the Youth Training Rehabilitation Centre in Arouca.

Commissioner of Prisons, Mr. Dennis Pulchan, and other members of the Prison Service’s Executive welcomed representatives of the United States Embassy, led by Chargê D’ Affaires, Mr. Shante Moore.

During the ceremony, the guests were treated to displays by the Prison Service Canine Unit and the Emergency Response Unit.

Both Commissioner Pulchan and Mr. Moore, during their brief remarks, acknowledged and gratified the long-standing collaboration between both agencies over the years.

The donation signified the US Embassy’s ongoing support and commitment to the Trinidad and Tobago Prison Service, in its efforts to counter illicit activities within the nation’s prisons, train and develop personnel, and provide resources required in the maintenance of public safety and interest of national security.
