The University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT) recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Carbon Zero Institute of Trinidad and Tobago (CZITT) to establish a framework for collaboration in areas of mutual interest related to education, research, innovation and technological development.
Through this collaboration, students and faculty will benefit from enhanced experiential learning opportunities, including internships, applied research and project-based training. The agreement fosters support in advancing Trinidad and Tobago’s innovation and digital infrastructure, while strengthening linkages between academia and industry. The MoU also creates pathways for joint research initiatives, knowledge exchange and responsible commercialisation of developed technologies.
At the signing, Professor Rean Maharaj, Acting President, UTT stated, “UTT carries a responsibility that goes beyond the delivery of academic programmes. We are here to support national development — to build capacity, to drive innovation, and to ensure that our country is prepared for the future.”
Mr Donald Baldeosingh, President, ENMAN Group and Founder CZITT, expressed his excitement for the partnership, emphasising the importance of building strategic relationships grounded in shared goals of research, sustainability and innovation.
