Members of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service Anti-Kidnapping Unit are investigating the latest kidnapping, which occurred on Sunday night along Bassie Street in Spring Village, Valsayn.
The incident happened as 44-year-old Jankie Satie Karim of Anpoo Street, Spring Village, was seated in a white Toyota Hilux with her son and husband when a blue vehicle suddenly stopped, blocking their vehicle.
Three armed assailants then exited the vehicle and proceeded to remove Mrs. Karim from the Hilux and force her into the blue vehicle. One of the armed assailants then robbed Mr. Karim before stealing the van.
Mr. Karim and his son, who were also momentarily kidnapped, were released a short while later before the suspects fled the scene.
Based on intelligence, members of the TTPS were able to locate the Toyota Hilux on Monday morning at Sunset Drive, Arouca. However, Mrs. Karim remains unaccounted for.
