Venezuelans living abroad gathered in several South American cities on Saturday following reports that President Nicolás Maduro had been captured.
In Lima, Peru, dozens of Venezuelans assembled outside their country’s embassy, which remained closed and under police guard.
Many carried Venezuelan flags and chanted slogans expressing hope for political change.
Attendees emphasised the need for international involvement in Venezuela’s future, stating that restoring order would require global support.
Similar scenes unfolded in Chile, where hundreds of Venezuelans took to the streets in celebration, waving flags and singing.
