WASA Announces Planned Shutdown Of Caroni Water Treatment Plant

Emergency maintenance at the Caroni Water Treatment Plant will result in temporary water disruptions on Thursday night to customers across North, Central, and South Trinidad.

The Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) announced via a media release that the shutdown will take place between 8pm and midnight on July 24th.

WASA said the shutdown is necessary to carry out urgent electrical maintenance at the facility.

In North Trinidad, the affected areas include Saddle Road, San Juan to Morvant, East Dry River, Port of Spain to Gonzales, and Cascade to Cocorite.

Areas in Central and South Trinidad include Piarco, Chaguanas, Claxton Bay, San Fernando, St. Mary’s, and Marabella.

There will also be disruptions to the supply along the South West Peninsula from San Fernando to Point Fortin.

Customers who require assistance or wish to request a truck-borne delivery can contact WASA’s Customer Call Centre toll-free at 800-4420/26.
