The West Indies Under-19 Men’s Cricket team secured a dominant 62-run victory over Ireland in the ICC Under-19 World Cup.
Batting first, the West Indies recovered from early setbacks to score 226 runs in 46.5 overs, thanks to a composed 66-run innings from Jewel Andrew, while steady middle-order partnerships ensured a competitive total.
Ireland began on a strong footing, reaching 40 without loss in the powerplay, but regular wickets derailed their chase. Despite the best efforts of James West, the Irish were held to 164 for seven in 40.0 overs to secure the win.
The victory leaves the Windies in third position in Group One.
