During the Windies must-win encounter against Bangladesh last Friday, captain Kieron Pollard retired hurt during his innings.

With speculations of an old injury being aggravated, Caribbean fans waited with bated breath for a report on this development

CWI media reported that Pollard did in fact sustain an injury to his left thigh, and trained with the team on Monday. It was stated that the medical team will be closely monitoring the big hitting right hander with the aim of him being match ready for the second must win game against Sri Lanka on Thursday.

The West Indies, who are fifth on the table with two points, must win their last two matches of the Super 12 and will also depend on favourable results from other scenarios within the Group to qualify in one of the top two positions.
