The opening of Works Credit Union’s fifth branch at East Gates Mall is more than just expanding the Credit Union’s footprint, it’s about strengthening its presence as a reliable financial partner.
The newest branch was formally opened on Saturday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Cooperative Officer of the Cooperative Development Division of the Ministry of Youth Development and National Service, David Moe, congratulated Works Credit Union on its growth and expansion. He acknowledged their strong team spirit and dedication to members and staff.
“I always speak on behalf of staff because sometimes we forget that we are people organisations for our staff as well. So I like the spirit of the staff that I’m seeing so I’m taking the opportunity to congratulate the management for a good job in terms of the treatment of your staff because you can’t treat your members well if you don’t treat your staff well.”
As he formally welcomed the team, Chairman of the Tunapuna/Piarco Regional Corporation, Josiah Austin, said he looks forward to working with the Credit Union to foster economic growth within the Corporation.
“I welcome you all. I look forward to working with each and every one of you as we continue to build in this Tunapuna Piarco region and the wider Trinidad and Tobago.”
President of Works Credit Union, Gloria Popplewell, said the opening of the Credit Union’s fifth branch is a testament to its journey, growth, and unwavering commitment to serving its members.
“When we look back at the humble beginnings of Works Credit Union, we are reminded of the dedication, the vision, and the hard work that has propelled us to where we are today. This new branch is more than just a physical space. It is a beacon of progress and a signal of our dedication to empowering our members in ways that make a meaningful difference.”
The WCU President reminded the employees of the new branch that their role goes beyond that of service providers as through their dedication, they are contributing to the legacy of the Credit Union.
