This World Bee Day, Darren Mahabir, P.R.O. of the Trinidad and Tobago Beekeepers’ Association, sheds light on the vital role bees play in our ecosystem and economy. With 16 species of local bees thriving across the country, Mahabir shares that Trinidad and Tobago’s honey industry is currently in a strong position.
He also addresses a common concern, honey crystallisation, which often occurs when stored for long periods or in cool temperatures. He urges that we appreciate our bees more, they may be small, but their contribution is mighty and worth protecting.
