As the world commemorated World Tourism Day on Monday, Chief Secretary and Secretary for Tourism, Ancil Dennis, urged tourism stakeholders to remain optimistic.
In a brief written greeting, he expressed the need to remain steadfast and resilient as the tourism sector maneuvers the challenges of these unprecedented times. The Tourism Secretary added that the sector serves as the foundation for improvement and growth in many other spheres. He pledged the Tobago House of Assembly’s commitment to facilitating collaboration with the island’s private sector and other agencies to ensure revival and sustenance of Tobago’s tourism sector.
Meanwhile, recently, President of the Tobago Hotel and Tourism Association Chris James lamented that Tobago’s hotel occupancy level stands at less than 5%. However, Mr. James too shared similar sentiments, stressing the need to remain positive.
