Diego Martin Man Arrested And Charged For Trafficking Cannabis

Police arrested one man and seized a quantity of cannabis during an intelligence-led operation yesterday.

Between 11pm on 19th August, 2025, and 2am on 20th August, 2025, members of the Inter-Agency Task Force conducted a Roving Road Checks operation in East Port of Spain area. Acting on information received, a party of officers proceeded to strategic locations along the Sir Solomon Hochoy Highway with the aim of intercepting a vehicle suspected of transporting drugs.

The officers successfully intercepted a silver Nissan B-15 in the vicinity of Grand Bazaar. Upon identifying themselves to the driver, they informed him of their intention to conduct a search of both his person and the vehicle. During the search, officers discovered two brown rectangular plastic wrappings containing 2,084 grammes of cannabis

The narcotics were seized, and the suspect, a man from Farm Road, Diego Martin, was arrested and later charged with possession of cannabis for the purpose of trafficking.

This operation was spearheaded by ACP Hazel, Snr Supt Sooker, and Supt Ramsook, and coordinated by Insp (Ag.) Price, Cpl Joseph, and Cpl Cardinez.
