Sunrisers Hyderabad Pull Off Historic IPL Run Chase Against Mumbai Indians

Sunrisers Hyderabad have pulled off one of the great IPL chases, beating Mumbai Indians by 6 wickets to overhaul a target of 244, the third-highest successful chase in the tournament’s history.

The platform was set by openers Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head, who plundered 129 runs in under 9 overs, 92 of those coming in the powerplay alone.

Head fell for a brutal 76 off 30 deliveries, but when Sunrisers slipped to 133 for 3, Heinrich Klaasen took over. The South African smashed 65 not out, putting on 80 with Nitish Kumar Reddy before Salil Arora’s cameo sealed it with eight balls to spare.

Even Jasprit Bumrah went wicketless, conceding 54 runs in his four overs. Mumbai, who had Ryan Rickelton’s unbeaten century to thank for posting 243, remain in ninth, with just two wins from eight games.
