Sri Lanka Take Second T20I

Sri Lanka have leveled the T20I series against the West Indies, riding a blistering middle-order assault to a 37-run win in the second match.

It was a night dominated by power hitting and disciplined bowling.

After losing the toss and being asked to bat, Sri Lanka made the most of the conditions in Kingston, posting 194 for 6 from their twenty overs.

The push late in the innings came from Dasun Shanaka, who blazed his way to 58 from just 24 deliveries.

Kamil Mishara gave him solid support at the other end, chipping in with 60 to lift the total to a challenging mark.

Shamar Joseph was the pick of the attack for the West Indies with 3/32, backed up by 2/38 from Matthew Forde.

Set 195 to win, West Indies kept losing wickets at the wrong moments. Rovman Powell made 43 and Shimron Hetmyer added 36, but neither could hold the chase together.

Sri Lanka’s bowlers shared the work evenly, Dushmantha Chameera and Wanindu Hasaranga claiming three apiece and the hosts were dismissed for 157 inside nineteen overs.
