Diabetes Association Of Trinidad And Tobago Elects Executive Board For 2026–2028 Term

The Diabetes Association of Trinidad and Tobago (DATT) successfully hosted its Biennial General Meeting and Elections on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at the Chaguanas Borough Corporation, marking an important milestone in the Association’s continued commitment to diabetes education, awareness, advocacy, and support throughout Trinidad and Tobago.

The meeting brought together members, chairpersons, volunteers, and stakeholders to review the
Association’s accomplishments over the past two years, discuss strategic priorities for the future,
and elect a new Executive Board to serve the organization for the 2026–2028 term.


The newly elected Executive Board comprises a diverse group of healthcare professionals,
advocates, and community leaders who will guide the Association’s mission to improve the lives
of persons living with diabetes and those at risk of developing the condition.

Speaking following the elections, DATT President Dr. Andrew Dhanoo expressed appreciation to
the membership for their confidence in the newly elected team and reaffirmed the Association’s
commitment to strengthening diabetes prevention, education, advocacy, and support services
across the country.


“The work of the Diabetes Association remains as critical as ever. Together with our Executive
Board, members, volunteers, partners, and supporters, we will continue to champion initiatives
that empower individuals and communities to prevent and manage diabetes while advocating for
improved health outcomes for all.”


DATT extends its sincere gratitude to the outgoing Executive Board members, volunteers, and
supporters whose dedication and service have contributed significantly to the Association’s growth
and impact over the years.


As the Association embarks on a new term, it remains focused on expanding educational
programmes, strengthening community outreach initiatives, advancing research and advocacy
efforts, and enhancing support services for people living with diabetes throughout Trinidad and
Tobago.


The Diabetes Association of Trinidad and Tobago congratulates the newly elected Executive
