NCRHA Launches Patient Escort Training Initiative

The North Central Regional Health Authority is strengthening patient care through a comprehensive training programme for Patient Escorts at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex.

The Patient Escort Capacity Building Initiative, which runs from June through July, is designed to improve customer service, workplace safety and the quality of patient care. Training includes customer service and emotional intelligence, safe moving and lifting techniques, as well as infection prevention and control.

The programme has also been expanded to include staff from across the NCRHA, as part of the Authority’s wider investment in workforce development.

Additional phases will cover conflict resolution, occupational safety, CPR, equipment operation and the prevention and management of aggression and violence.

The NCRHA says the initiative reflects its ongoing commitment to building a skilled, compassionate workforce capable of delivering safe and efficient healthcare.
