The Licensing Authority’s Driver Rehabilitation Programme is helping motorists regain their driving privileges while putting safer drivers back on the nation’s roads.
Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation Eli Zakour provided an update on the two-day programme, which is designed for motorists who have lost their driving privileges under the demerit points system.
He gave the update during a pre-Budget consultation in Caroni East on Tuesday.
“I am happy to report that over 300 persons have participated. Pass rates right now is 88%. So they’re going back on the roads as safer drivers. Another thing we did was we introduced the online certified copy system. Before you had to go in licensing office and line up for your certified copy. Now you could just order it online and you’ll get it in the mail in about three days. You could also pick it up at TTConnect locations throughout the country.”
