Well-known bodybuilder and personal trainer Imran Razac, better known as Body by Imran, has praised the work of the staff at the Port of Spain General Hospital following the successful delivery and care of his triplets, who were born at 27 weeks and discharged last month after spending several months in the NICU.
In a post on his Facebook page, he noted that the event was historic, as the triplets were the smallest to be delivered in Trinidad and Tobago.
He praised the staff at the hospital for working tirelessly to ensure that all the babies were safe and taken care of.
“It was a really beautiful journey and experience here. I’ll definitely bring the boys back to show you all how they’re doing as Zayaan, Zain and Zaidal have about 7 mummy’s and 5 dads how because it takes a village to raise a child and they just delivered triplets. You should see how they work at the NICU upon entry with proper sanitation washing of hands upon entry, no phones allowed, no strong perfumes or scents, properly dressed and attired staff, and I was impressed with the cleanliness of the facilities and how many incubators and ventilators there were and there were about 12 other premature babies in that ward at that same time, and from what I can say it’s a well put together system and shift.”
On April 17th, 2026, the North West Regional Health Authority (NWRHA) announced the successful discharge of the smallest triplets ever delivered and cared for in Trinidad and Tobago, noting that the infants were born at 27 weeks and spent several months in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at the Port of Spain General Hospital before being released into the care of their family.
The Authority hailed it as a “remarkable milestone for the clinical team” and recognised the infants’ survival and development as reflective of “the highest standards of neonatal medicine, advanced respiratory and nutritional support, and the unwavering dedication of our nursing and medical staff.”
According to the NWRHA, the achievement was not only a medical milestone but also reflected its ongoing mission, saying, “This announcement is not only about a medical first. It is a testament to what our team strives for each day: excellence, compassion, and honesty. We remain committed to supporting every family whether they leave with their baby in their arms, or with their baby in their hearts.”
