The Ministries of National Security and Social Development and Family Services have come together and launched the Case Care Management Project.
The programme, launched on Wednesday, is aimed at reducing this country’s prison population and is also a collaboration with the Inter-American Drug Abuse Control Commission.
Minister of Social Development and Family Services, Donna Cox explained, the initiative will provide additional support to this country’s justice system. She said it will put forward treatment-based alternatives to incarceration for this category of offenders.
Minister of National Security Fitzgerald Hinds said the two-year pilot program will also address this country’s crime problem.
