CCJ Introduces New System For Assigning Judges To Panels

The Caribbean Court of Justice has introduced a new system for determining which judges will serve on its various panels.

Under the revised approach, all members of the Court are expected to participate in panel hearings unless a judge is officially excused for a valid reason.

The CCJ says the changes are designed to make the distribution of judicial duties more transparent and consistent, while also providing greater flexibility and supporting the efficient delivery of justice.

Under the new structure, panel leadership will be assigned to the Court’s President and its two longest-serving judges.

The revised arrangements are effective immediately.
