All charges against the seven officers previously discharged in the case of Misbehaviour in Public Office have been re-laid.
The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) confirms these officers are now expected to reappear in court to face the charges.
The case was initially dismissed on Monday 18th November 2024, due to procedural issues and is currently under investigation.
Following discussions with the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), the TTPS received advice to re-lay charges against the accused officers.
Police Commissioner Erla Harewood- Christopher in a statement said. “The re-laying of these charges demonstrates our commitment to ensuring that justice is served. The TTPS will continue to work closely with the office of the DPP to ensure the proper determination of these matters.”
