Banking officials are allaying fears people may have with the use of contactless credit and debit cards.
At a Bankers Association Financial Education Caravan in South Trinidad on Thursday, several people noted these cards can be used simply by tapping on a Linx Machine, without verification of the cardholder, or PIN requested.
But Assistant Manager of RBC’s High Street San Fernando Branch, Ornella Seepersad Singh, assured that banks will remedy the situation once a report is made and investigation is conducted.
Manager of Corporate Security Services at Republic Bank, Sherwin Forte, reminded that despite the use of contactless transactions, there is still a limit where the PIN would be requested.
