Crime Round-Up: Police Seize Gun And Tactical Gear, 5 Men Arrested For Breaking Curfew

Investigations are continuing into the circumstances surrounding the seizure of a gun, ammunition, and a Police tactical uniform on Sunday morning in Fyzabad.

Reports indicate that the items were discovered during a search at a house in John Jules Trace, Fyzabad.

The officers found one Glock pistol with 15 rounds of 9mm ammunition, along with two magazines. The officers also found a Police tactical uniform and hat buried in some bushes at the back of the house.

A man was arrested in connection with the find and is now assisting police.

And in other crime news, five men are due to appear at the San Fernando Magistrates’ Court on Monday after they were arrested and charged with breach of curfew and resisting arrest.

The men were detained during an anti-crime exercise, in the Southern Division between 8pm on Saturday and 1am today.

During the exercise several drug blocks were targeted in Moruga and St. Mary’s and the five men were detained.

Sheldon Woods, Henry Vincent and Rendell Chance are from Burton Trace, St. Mary’s Village, Moruga, Ryan Grazette is from School Trace, Claxton Bay, while Samora Greades is from Upper Rich Plain Road, Diego Martin.
