CXC Probes Leak Of CSEC Paper

The Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) is investigating circumstances surrounding an issue which occurred with the distribution of the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) Principles of Accounts Paper 02 at specific centres.

Via a media release, CXC says once the investigations are completed, the appropriate action will be taken.

CXC says it understands that any uncertainty around examinations can cause anxiety and wishes to assure candidates and parents that these matters are treated with the highest urgency.

In May 2023, after the leak of a CSEC Math Paper 2, CXC announced that the paper would be scrapped. At a virtual news conference at that time, CXC Registrar Wayne Wesley said CXC considered setting a second paper but given considerations of mental health as well as the logistics of when and how to administer that exam, it was decided just to scrap the exam which students had already sat. CXC had traced that leak to a centre in Jamaica.
