The Ministry of Energy and Energy Industries says it has been unable to locate any original executed agreements relating to the Dragon Gas project and has found no English-language translated versions of any agreements in its records.
In a media release on Tuesday, the Ministry said a review of its records and inquiries with staff who were actively involved in the project, failed to uncover original executed agreements in either English or Spanish from when the agreements were executed in December 2023.
The Ministry revealed that a Cabinet Note dated January 2024 contained an attached copy of the executed Fiscal Measurement Agreement in Spanish.
However it stressed that while this attachment provides a record of the signed executed agreement in Spanish, it “does not resolve the absence of the original executed agreement or establish that an English-language version was also executed.”
