A Fatima College student is recovering after being struck by a vehicle while crossing the road outside the school on Thursday.
The incident occurred along Mucurapo Road, where the Form One student was reportedly hit by an overtaking vehicle travelling in the opposite direction.
According to school officials, the student had been following proper road safety procedures at the time by using the designated zebra crossing.
He sustained a broken leg and required stitches but is said to be in good spirits as he continues to recover in hospital.
Eyewitness video from the scene showed emergency responders providing initial treatment as concerned parents and bystanders gathered nearby.
The school has since reminded students to remain vigilant when crossing, while also urging motorists to exercise caution and avoid parking on pedestrian crossings in order to maintain clear visibility and ensure safety along the roadway.
