The country has recorded its first murder for the New Year.
Dead is 41 year old Adunde Telemaque, known as STEMS.
According to police at around 7am on January 1st, residents of Upper Belle Eau Road, Belmont heard explosions and observed three men with masks jumping a wall. Upon further investigations, the residents discovered the lifeless body of Telemaque.
Police were contacted and a party of officers responded. They later found Telemaque laying in a track. Several gunshot wounds were observed about the body, with several spent shells at the scene.
Investigations are continuing.
And Tobago has recorded its first murder for 2024.
Dead is Kareem Small of Patience Hill.
According to reports, two men were sitting on a bench near the bus shed in Patience Hill, when gunmen opened fire on them. The victims attempted to run but Small collapsed and died at the scene.
Twenty seven year old Kelon Noray, also of Patience Hill, was wounded in the attack and rushed to hospital for treatment.
Police are continuing investigations.
