Acting Commissioner of Police Gary Griffith has the support of the immediate Past President of the Arima Business Association, Reval Chattergoon.
Mr. Chattergoon says during his tenure as President of the organisation, he was thankful for Mr. Griffith’s efforts to help reduce crime by championing the cause of applicants for Firearm User licenses.
He adds for several years prior to Mr. Griffith’s tenure, Arima was under siege by criminal elements. He notes many businesses closed early and citizens were under a self-imposed curfew.
He credits the Acting Commissioner with the resulting reduction in crime in the area.
