Senior Counsel Anand Ramlogan and Freedom Law Chambers issued a pre-action protocol letter on Wednesday on behalf of the family of seven-year-old Angelica Jogie, who died after a jet ski collision at Pigeon Point Heritage Park on April 8th, 2026.
The legal action has been filed against jet ski operator Ashworth Burnett, known as “Whistle”, the Tobago House of Assembly (THA) and Pigeon Point Heritage Park Ltd.
The letter alleges that Burnett drove a jet ski into a restricted bathing area, striking Angelica, her parents and other relatives.
Freedom Law Chambers said Angelica later died from “multiple traumatic injuries” while her parents suffered physical injuries, and the family continues to endure severe psychological trauma.
The legal team contends that the tragedy was “grave and preventable” and alleges longstanding failures by the THA and Pigeon Point Heritage Park Ltd. to enforce marine safety measures, despite prior incidents.
Freedom Law Chambers has given the defendants 28 days to respond, warning that High Court proceedings seeking damages for wrongful death, personal injuries, psychiatric injury and other losses will be filed if liability is not admitted.
