Government Aiming To Reduce Food Import Bill

The Government is determined to see the food importation bill decreased.

This, from Minister of Rural Development and Local Government and Member of Parliament for San Fernando West, Faris Al-Rawi.

He was speaking to the media during his visit of the Food, Agricultural and Beverages Exposition “Money Does Grow on Trees,” which began on Wednesday May 15th and ends on May 19th at the Gulf City Shopping Complex.

At the Expo, patrons will have the opportunity to discover the latest innovations in the food and agriculture industry and even with all of the innovations and by-products made with Trinidad and Tobago’s locally-grown produce on display and ready for sale, Minister Al-Rawi shared that one of the Government’s aims is to lower this country’s food bill.
