Heritage Petroleum Company Limited (Heritage) has successfully completed major construction activities and commenced the phased transition to newly upgraded pipeline infrastructure under its ongoing Asset Integrity Management Programme. This marks a significant milestone in the Company’s continued commitment to public safety, pipeline integrity and environmental protection.
The initiative involved replacing approximately 10,000 feet of crude oil pipeline infrastructure that traversed the community of Tarouba. The works included approximately 6,000 feet of conventionally trenched pipeline installation and 4,000 feet of Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) pipeline installation beneath critical infrastructure corridors.
The HDD installations enabled pipeline crossings beneath major roadways and sensitive infrastructure while minimising disruption to the public and surrounding communities.
These crossings included areas near the Sir Solomon Hochoy Highway and the Tarouba Link Road.
Commencing on 19 September 2025, the project represented one of Heritage’s major asset integrity initiatives and was successfully commissioned on 24 May 2026 following several months of coordinated engineering, construction, safety, and operational activities. At peak execution, the project engaged more than 300 workers, including contractors, engineers, operators, HSE personnel and support teams who collaborated to ensure the safe and efficient completion of the works. The upgraded infrastructure forms part of Heritage’s ongoing investment in replacing ageing infrastructure to reduce operational risk, improve system reliability and strengthen environmental protection measures in areas surrounding critical pipeline assets. Acting Chief Executive Officer Kerry Rampersad stated:
“The modernisation of our pipeline infrastructure reflects Heritage’s commitment to safer, more reliable and environmentally responsible operations. These upgrades are critical to strengthening operational resilience while supporting the long-term sustainability of our operations.”
Throughout the execution phase, Heritage maintained active engagement with regulatory agencies, neighbouring communities, educational institutions, and other stakeholders to ensure that all activities were conducted safely, responsibly and with minimal disruption to the public.
Heritage also recognised the efforts of its employees, contractors, and operational teams whose dedication and commitment contributed to the safe and successful completion of the project.
Heritage will continue to work closely with all relevant stakeholders as part of its continued pipeline integrity and infrastructure modernisation programme.
