Holy Name Convent Establishes Independent Review Committee To Examine Recent Concerns

The Board of Management of Holy Name Convent, Port of Spain, has established an Independent Review Committee to conduct what it described as a “fair, confidential and structured review” of issues raised in recent weeks.

In a media release, the Board said the Committee will function independently of both the Board and the school administration and will be tasked with reviewing submissions, conducting interviews, and submitting its findings and recommendations.

The Committee is chaired by governance and leadership professional Vincent Pereira and includes Attorney Raphael Ajodhia, retired Principal Paula Moses, Attorney Frances Bain-Cumberbatch, and Clinical Psychologist Isolde Ali Ghent-Garcia.

The Board also announced the creation of a Professional Care Unit to provide emotional and psychological support, acknowledging that recent developments have sparked strong reactions across the school community.
