The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service is extending condolences to the family of Corporal Yohannes Joseph, who was attached to the Inter-Agency Task Force.
At approximately 1:54 pm on Tuesday officers of the Sangre Grande Police Station responded to a report of loud explosions around 1:54 pm at Madoosingh Drive, Bois Banday, where Corporal Joseph was discovered bleeding from a head wound.
He was rushed to the Sangre Grande Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Speaking at a TTPS media briefing on Wednesday, Public Information Officer, Acting ASP Owie Russell, echoed the sentiments of Police Commissioner, Allister Guevarro, that we must be attentive to the behaviour of those around us.
“This tragic event is a solemn reminder, that many among us officers and civilians alike may be carrying heavy unseen burdens, anyone can feel overwhelmed and no one should face those burdens in isolation, we encourage individuals, who may be struggling with personal, emotional or situational pressures, to reach out to someone they trust or seek professional support.”
Corporal Joseph was a father of five, and served twenty-four years in the TTPS.
